There aren't all that many true-blue flowers around. P. communis ("Shamrock Pea", "Blue Oxalis") is one that originally came from the mountains of Africa and Asia and has been grown in Europe since the 19th century. It is low-growing and has leaves much like the oxalis which lends it one of its common names. There are occasional photos of versions with pink or white in the flower and many with different patterns of red and white on the leaves. I haven't grown this plant yet, but I will sometime. |
